Natalie Gil-Arcos Accepted to NYSCC Internship Program

I’m excited to share that Natalie Gil-Arcos, one of my research students, has been accepted into the 2025 NYSCC Internship Program!

This is a great opportunity for students who are interested in cosmetic science to gain real-world experience in the industry. Natalie will be interning with Symrise, specifically in their Consumer Fragrance & Applied Research Division, from July 7 through August 25. She’ll be contributing to work that blends chemistry, fragrance development, and applied research—all while learning from some of the top minds in the field.

This internship also ties directly into her work with me on an ongoing project to design a new cosmetic chemistry course at Monmouth. Our goal is to build a course that introduces students to the science behind cosmetics, with an emphasis on green chemistry, product formulation, and industry practices. Natalie’s experiences this summer will not only shape her own growth, but also help us create a more relevant and engaging learning experience for future students.

She’s been a thoughtful, driven contributor in the lab and in our curriculum development meetings. I’m proud to see her take this next step and represent our work in a broader context.

Congrats again to Natalie! I’m looking forward to seeing how this experience shapes her perspective and informs the course we’re building together.
